Terry pulled back the cover and took the limp length of flesh between her fingers. "Come on, guy."
He didn't get it . . . until recently he had been priapic. Where the hell did the fire go all of a sudden?
A chilling thought. Maybe I've got some kind of blockage. He shook the thought away and gave her a squeeze. "Like I said, there's a God and He loves balance."
She laughed softly. "Then I shouldn't take it personally."
"It's Mammon killed the beast," he said.
"So I'm rubbing myself all over your body while you're calculating profits. I feel like I'm shacked up with Scrooge McDuck."
"Tomorrow, I promise."
She smiled. "This is a switch."
He got up and went into the bathroom. In the mirror he looked down at himself. Maybe it was stress he wasn't even aware ofthe distracting excitement of the last week weeks. (Maybe he should check with a urologist.)
He gave one last look in the mirror and thought how, this upset aside, life was finally turning around for them. Then he turned, flicked off the lights, got into bed and went to sleep on that hopeful thought.
